I have several years of experience, mostly focused in the health space, but through my work in PR agencies, I have vast knowledge of the basic principles of PR and marketing that are applicable across industries and fields.

Akeia Blue is a communications expert with over six years of experience in delivering comprehensive PR and marketing campaigns for non-profit organizations, pharmaceutical clients and government organizations.

Akeia’s work at health-focused public relations and marketing agencies gave her the opportunity to support several non-profit organizations, government organizations and pharmaceutical companies across a variety of health topics including sexual/reproductive health, mental health, diabetes, COVID-19 vaccination, general adult vaccination and several types of cancers. This includes experience with brand development, product marketing and awareness campaigns.

Akeia has contributed to several award-winning campaigns, earned high profile speaking engagements for clients and advised on health equity topics, including word choice, campaign design and research and outreach plans. Akeia was named an Emerging Leaders Award finalist by the Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) in 2021 for her contributions to her organization, community and the public relations field. She has been quoted on topics including health literacy and health equity in point of care marketing.

Outside of work, Akeia is also a consultant. She launched Be Health Literate in 2016 and created materials and developed social media strategies for small start-up non-profit organizations. She rebranded Be Health Literate to Akeia Blue Consulting in 2023 to allow her to better support a wider variety of clients with. Akeia graduated with her Master’s in Public Health degree from The George Washington University.
